City Clerk Barry J. Szymczak has been a resident of the City of
Burbank since 1987. He is a graduate of Brother Rice High School, Class
of '71. He and his wife Grace have a son, daughter and 3 grandchildren.
After graduation, he was employed at Sherwood Florist in Chicago, his
family owned business. In 2003 , the business closed after 45 years of
serving the community. Barry then was employed at Lawn Funeral Home in
Burbank from January 2004 until his election to the City Clerk's office
in April 2017. He served as a member /secretary of the Fire-Police
Commission from 1996 to 2008, and then 2+ terms as Alderman of the 3rd
Ward of the City of Burbank, along with Committee Chairman of Public
Works.

The City of Burbank was incorporated as a city on April 4, 1970, and
presently operates under the Aldermanic-City form of government. Under
this form of government, the Mayor, Treasurer, City Clerk and 7 Alderman
are elected for a term of four years. The City Council meets the 2nd and
4thWednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the
second floor of City Hall. These are public meetings and citizens are
invited to attend and to observe their government in action. Prior to
adjournment, questions and comments are invited from the floor. |

NOTE: Some forms on the City of Burbank website are sample forms and
should only be used as examples. Most forms used by the city are
multi-page and multi-color.

Starting on Monday March 27, 2023, vehicle sticker forms will be sent
out Via U.S Mail. Online purchase's Via our website portal begins April
03, 2023. City Sticker purchases in person and at City Hall's main desk
also begins on this date.

New Stickers must be displayed by May 31st. 100% Penalties Apply June
1st. New Vehicle Purchases and New Residents Have 30 Days to Apply at
Regular Price. Proof of Purchase Date is Required. Please note Burbank
requires the removal of previously expired city stickers from your
vehicles window.

COMMUNITY NEWS
Yard waste pickup begins April 1st to November 30th We will have
stickers available at the Clerk’s office.
Throwing away electronics is now against the law and heavy fines can be
imposed. Please visit the following website to learn how to properly
dispose.
